ABOUT

Hannah (they/she) is a body liberation coach committed to supporting folks who feel left out of, or harmed by, mainstream fitness offerings.

Hannah loves to work with folks who believe they aren't able-bodied enough to participate in even the “beginner” offerings out there, folks who are trans or non-binary and desire a non-gendered approach to movement, cis-men who don’t vibe with "bro fitness culture,” and women who have had it with patriarchal beauty standards.

They support their clients to trust themselves and their own bodies, and discover a plethora of ways to MOVE that feel supportive to their wellbeing. Re-claiming movement as a way to help us regulate our nervous systems, put self-love into practice, and cultivate an internal feeling of power & strength is their JAM.

Hannah delights in unraveling the stories and societal expectations of what exercise "should" be, and restoring our access to movement in all the ways it can truly nourish the body and soul.

Hannah is first and foremost an artist. They studied theatre (with a focus on acting and stage combat) at Boston University. Physical theatre was their favorite, and whilst serving as the Fight Captain for a memorable production of The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby, they realized they needed to know more about human anatomy so they could help their cast mates stay safe & pain-free during the long run. This led to getting certified through NASM as a personal trainer. After that they went on to certify in Stott Pilates for mat & Reformer, TRX, Kettle bells, and dabble in power lifting. Her most recent deep dive on movement nerdery has been with Functional Range Conditioning (FRC), and they are currently trained as an FRC mobility specialist, Kinstretch instructor, and Internal Strength Model practitioner. Also, in 2017, Hannah co-founded a little company called The Fitness Alchemists, which has since closed for business but offers a TON of free movement resources over on YouTube.
